Hello, Winter Headcold

I am 175 pages into Consider Phlebas (500+ pages total), and I am not having a good time. If I strongly dislike torture, especially by bodily wastes and/or cannibalism, and am considering the Seven Deadly Words wrt Horza, should I continue, or am I better served by chucking this into the return pile?
