You're welcome. This isn't even all of the facepalm, see "leaving aside the optimistic assumption that science fiction does not have a saturation point," which would be another three paragraphs of economics, target audience, and the sudden looming saturation point when you exclude People Not Like Me.

My theory is that it's because he's never had a decent beta reader or an editor. Or, if he has, he has entirely ignored their advice.

I would like to believe that, but Wright has been published by Tor in the past. Believing that he doesn't have beta readers, or that he's not paying attention to them, would be to believe he's a lone voice, when the evidence points toward a group of people with shared ideas. His is not the only work to appear on the puppy slates.

(But wow, no beta read would explain a lot.)
