I love Mirabile. Jole left me mostly meh, and I think it was structural. The contents worked for me. The framing did not. I enjoyed Mirabile's little slices of life, showing the fragments of a largely peaceable frontier existence, assembled into a narrative collage of the world, small town life, and relationship. I wish this story had been in a structure that suited it similarly well.
