Lemonade

I gave up on sleep when I glanced between the blinds and noticed the sky was navy blue. Instead I looked up the time for sunrise, grabbed my camera and burned through my memory card again. This could become a habit. It was cool at dawn. I almost went back for a jacket. And the light was incredible.

I need to work on this "looking for texture" thing. (Resizing, sharpening.)

Again, these are utterly gorgeous. You have a wonderful eye for composition. I do hope your amassing a portfolio. No expert, here, but I'm thinking gallery quality stuff.

Thanks. You're seeing the cream of the crop. The stuff that leapt out of the "boring, bad light, telephone line - that is not my shoe - oh. It is" and made me say, "oh. Pretty." And it is.

The current combination of digital photography with image editing and manipulation software is wonderfully powerful. It's possible to do some fairly radical things to an image with a few keystrokes, if you have the shortcuts ready. It opens up all sorts of possibilities, especially for visual/digital artists.

If you think the stuff I'm doing is good, try punching "photo journals" into a search-by-interest, or look at conversus' or ruralrob's or hopelense's journals. I'm just getting started; there's some really fabulous photographers out there.

You might consider putting some of them in the County Fair, if you want some different feedback. However, they do require mounting and it costs money. The categories and requirements are on line at their website. I have it here somewhere, but you can Google it just for information. Come to the Fair on Wednesday and participate in Quilt Day!

Uh oh. . .that means Judy will be starting to look for recent things to enter. And revisit the "what was in those directories that got lost" question.
