Appeal to Internet Hive Brain: Version Dinner

Locals! Thai on the red line? Rockville to U St., Friday night. Food quality 110% more important than ambiance. Less expensive would be nice too. Hook me up?

Alternatively, outdoors eating. Almost anything but Italian, no reservation. I just want to snag something before hitting the 9:30 Club, not have a $50 gastronomic experience.

Thai Chef in Dupont Circle is pretty good

Which, it suddenly occurs to me, is south of U St. Oops.

I like Thaiphoon near Dupont Circle, off Connecticut on S st.

Not sure about the prices. It's been several years since I've eaten there.

There's also Jandara near the Woodley Park metro stop, and Tara Thai near the Cleveland Park metro station.

Not that any of my suggestions put you near the 9:30 club. But they are on the Rockville to downtown side of the red line

Thanks for the suggestions! You've heard me on my commute; as long as it's near a metro stop, almost any restaurant is fair game.
