Stop & Shop
It is completely unsurprising that, having lost my dinky 2 GB Sansa Clip (presumably to the ravages of reaching for a tissue and dropping the mp3 player 1.) at a bus stop 2.) in front of a bustling residential community 3.) while edging away from a teenager outgassing marijuana fumes) I bought an otherwise identical four gig replacement.
That is how I spent my convention mad money, and a few dollars besides. Totally worth it.

Yay!
I've got an iPod that my brother got me for my birthday a couple of years ago that's been through the laundry. And smashed out of shape. But it was only after I ran over the recharging stand with my desk chair at work that that one couldn't be used anymore.
But then I got a new one (pretty cheap) to replace it and have been really careful about the new recharger stand. And actually, now both of them work, but I've only got one stand to load them up and recharge them on.
I find the iPod shuffles themselves really easily fall off or get squashed by accident, etc. They're tiny!!!

Yeah, the shuffle is annoying that way -- no screen, no way of knowing what you're listening to. Doesn't seem to order properly -- what's in the play list on the computer isn't how it actually plays them. blech. And I try to use it for audiobooks and podcasts. I just try not to worry about order. And relabel my audiobook tracks (01 01, 01 02, etc.) which seems to work. Blech.
If it hadn't been a present from my brother, who knows what I'd have gotten. Probably nothing. ;-)
