Someone explain to me why I shouldn't use a minor cold as an excuse to take two days off work.

I prefer to take of work when I am perfectly healthy, and go to work sick.

Clever, but exhausting.

Not me. You've got the vacation time to spare (if you hadn't, then there'd be an argument against), and you'd be doing a good turn for your fellow employees by not spraying cold germs every which way!

Hope you feel better soon!

Ha. Other people's health did pass through my mind.

Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks!

The thing is, I don't get sick that often. Yay immune system! However, it makes calibrating how sick I actually am, when I'm coughing, a little... erratic.

I usually calibrate by lack of productivity... a certain amount of woolgathering is normal for me, but when I find myself concentrating on how bad I feel rather than on work it's time to go home. Go sleep! :)

Today I emailed in, ate soup, and after a couple of hours of blog-reading took a three-hour nap. I think I am unwell! I really can't be sick next week, and yesterday was an uphill fight, so I feel fairly justified in taking today off. If I don't make it out of the house today, I may be a rebel and take tomorrow off as well. Or go in for a half day. Thank goodness for use-or-lose.
