Morning Conversations from the Fangirl Apartment

[livejournal.com profile] miriel: "The RotK trailer isn't up yet on the official site... oh, heck." *Disappears into room, returns with paperback Return of the King*

[livejournal.com profile] ase: "Admit it. You really want to reread the entire series. Just grab The Hobbit now and jump in."

[livejournal.com profile] miriel: "No, I can't... the Elves in there are really disturbing. I don't want to know what they're on."

[livejournal.com profile] ase: "You're upset by the Elves in The Hobbit because you're used to thinking of them as ancient and noble beings, but they get down and boogie like frat boys sometimes."

[livejournal.com profile] miriel: "You're posting that to livejournal, aren't you."

[livejournal.com profile] ase: "Yep. I'll do it while you're finding your shoes."

And so to class.

Current Music: The Great Shoe-Hunt and Morning Cat Herding

Sounds kind of spiffy; who was that by?

And after stepping out the door, a hasty return for a jacket. A brisk zinger of a morning around here!

The Fangirl Duo and the Kittycats.

It's not actually a song; if I don't have any music playing I'll fill the music field with whatever noises are echoing through the apartment. This morning, it happened to be the roommate on a shoe hunt, trying to dodge her keenly interested cats.

It would make an interesting song title, though, wouldn't it?

And after stepping out the door, a hasty return for a jacket. A brisk zinger of a morning around here!

I know! This is exactly the sort of weather I like.

If [livejournal.com profile] miriel finds the elves in The Hobbit disturbing, you'd better make sure she never gets her hands on a copy of Bored of the Rings.

Too late, alas (http://www.livejournal.com/users/ase/79903.html).

Here's the trailer in Quicktime format (http://img-nex.theonering.net/movies/rotk_trailer_480x280_fixed.mov)

Other links available upon request.

How does she like the Secret Diaries? "Still the prettiest" isn't all that noble. (Though very like nobles are often portrayed)

The VSDs, with their focus on movie canon, are a great source of local amusement.

"Hmm. I'm going to need onions, ginger, carrots... don't even think about saying it, M."

Oh, good, you're alive. How's things? (And did you know the B5 S4 DVDs come out in January?)

I Object!!

I don't have issues with them as being "unnoble", it's more imagining Elrond singing "Oh tra-la-la-lolly" etc etc...

Personally I find the good satire amusing, although Bored of the Rings ticks me off because it's past the point of good taste.

And we have 3 versions of the trailer downloaded, thank you very much. I was just waiting for LOTR.Net to put it up. I have since rebooted and started from FOTR and am reading my way through again.

I'm going to say, that I think we don't have any room to talk.

Probably not. But has that stopped any "not as weird and obsessed as your fandom" wars yet?
