If you think I haven't been online much lately, or very coherent when I am online, you would be on the money. I've been too busy driving and packing, and sometimes packing and driving. Yes, there's a theme there. I'm about 3/4ths packed, and I've spent $80 on gas in two trips to the pump, and I regret none of it. Cars are fun! Cars go voom and go places on your schedule and never stop running on nights, holidays or weekends. (Except when they break down, but that's not scheduled.) And they go voom! We're talking 40 mph on twisty two-lane country roads! It's terrifying! There's a reason the speed limit in many places (but not all!) is 30 mph! And cars you're driving don't stop for another passenger every five minutes! Figuring out the CD player and finding out your "does this circa 1995 player read burned CDs?" disc is your awesome happy mix on top of all this is pure joy.
Voom!
P. S. I did a one-exit hop on the Beltway yesterday and today, and no one came close to dying. However, I prefer green country roads to six lanes of "55 mph is five miles below the speed of traffic" terror. I took non-Beltway roads home; discretion is the better part of valor.
