I do not want to even think about how much I spent yesterday. "But it was on saaaale!" only excuses so much. Did I really need a Lands End azure XS fleece half-zip?

(The combination of payday and sales explains why I do not own a car yet. Discipline, what discipline? There was a 40% discount on DVDs! Burn a hole in my pocket, dear paycheck!)

So I shopped - and shopped, and shopped - and then I made groceries into beef stew, brownies and ice cream for five, plus munchies. Go me! It is worth noting that the lactase-added Breyers vanilla ice cream, which actually works as acted. Mmm, fat and sugar without nausea.

While buying, I'm also trying to get rid of stuff. The 10 boxes acquired from dad at Thanksgiving have been shelved or stuck in the five boxes to be turned into store credit or donated to Goodwill. I still don't know what to do with the two high school ceramic pieces. They're terrible art, but tossing them feels like breaking faith with my high school self.

The several hundred Magic: the Gathering cards are a no-brainer: pick my favorite 5 or so, matte and frame tastefully, pawn the rest off on gamers or a local gamer store. Maybe keep the Unglued expansion cards, because those were funny.

In the spring there's going to be a clothes-and-shoes culling. This winter I'm going to go through the 6' book case and reread with an eye to culling. Watch this space for reread commentary. Hopefully my brain will be back online by then, and I'll have actual content.
