In a refreshing change of pace, a recruiter gave me her card after an interview workshop, I made money tutoring and fixing other people's technological problems, and a writer said I wrote well today. There's a non-negligible possibility I'll spend the summer working part time and selling my copy editing, computer, and tutoring skills on craigslist for spare change this summer. It wouldn't be my first choice, but if I can hustle a living wage out of the next three months I will have many opportunities to do things I haven't done, and meet people I otherwise would never have met. (At least one database suggests I'm in for a little too much adventure, but I will cross that bridge when I get there.) Days like this are reassuring in the face of days when I have nothing to add to my job application spreadsheet.
