So if people want words, hit me.
Science: I do not actually do science at the moment. What's the saying? The first time you do something, you're a researcher; the second time, you're an engineer; the third time, you're a tech. I am definitely, one hundred percent, a tech. It makes me a little sad, because the feel of your understanding of the world shifting into something more accurate or precise is really addictive. (The long hours... not so much.)
Fanfic: Everyone knows the geek hierarchy? I'm pretty sure that right now, someone is taking the oscelot thing as a challenge.
This is my RL journal, so there's limits to what I'm going to admit to here, where (help us) it would be very easy for my parents - my parents - to find and read, but I subscribe to the "fixit" theory of fanfic, which explains a lot about who I hang with and the conversations we have. I also subscribe to the crackfic, but only when it's 1.) hysterical, or 2.) doing something incredibly clever.
Wiscon: I heard about Wiscon before I made it out this year. I had a fabulous time. (I still haven't posted my write-up! Augh!) I also self-selected for things that would be fun, if not conciousness-raising.
Music: I love music. I love singing, I love other people playing guitar, I love pop with super-slick production values, I love college a cappella - I dig music. When I'm working, I get to listen to whatever I want on my mp3 player, and this makes me happy. I miss singing, and really should find a group to sing with.
Art: I know it when I see it? I like the idea of art more than the execution, sometimes, because I prefer old-school demi-realist visual art to many of the 20th century schools of art. I think that art is valuable, and even if I don't like all, well, other people don't like things I do, and do like things I don't, but I also reserve the right to question what the heck the artist was thinking.
