Today I spent my lunch hour on hold in three different phone trees and
did not get my old internet cancelled. And then I called
after work, and got disconnected after ten minutes on hold and 90
seconds talking to a real human being. Now I'm doing it for the third
time, from my work desk, and I am not happy. Business hour
service for the lose.

Success! DSL cancelled. Shall call ex-roomie at 8 AM tomorrow to
provide him with requested Verizon contact info (apparently, you can't
get high-speed internet at our place! Even though multiple people
have!) and by calling before he is up 1.) show decent courtesy by
ensuring his continued internet access, but 2.) avoid actually talking
to him. He isn't a bad person, he's just a grad student with much
lower cleaning standards than mine. But the point is, I have survived
Verizon phone trees! Victory parade through Trader Joe's!

I've got the radio and the TV on Barack Obama's speech, and wow: the man can orate. Forget about his political credentials, I want his man for President just to make the State of the Union Address not suck!

I think the Democratic party had two excellent candidates in Clinton and Obama. I would've been happy for either of them to win the nomination, and now I'm looking forward to throwing the current administration out of the White House on its disarrayed ear. I dislike Bush Jr very much, and hope he retires for a long rest to his empty Texas ranch.

Aw, the crowd's chanting "yes we can! Yes we can!" This is the best Presidential race in decades.
