I Make Icons!

First haul from the icon project. Ten icons based on the works of Lois McMaster Bujold. The usual requests apply: please comment and credit; feedback/constructive criticism encouraged; an example of constructive criticism would be, "I can't read #6, try increasing the contrast." Some quotes have been tweaked for clarification; I'm aware of this. #9 is a LotR crossover, #10 includes mild profanity. If all that hasn't scared you off please stay for cookies and icons.

These are majorly cool! Only, shouldn't #2 be "neo-feudalism"? I seem to recall Miles correcting Galeni on that one [in _Brothers in Arms_?]. Still, definitely rocking, like a rocking chair on the San Andreas. :)

From your other posts I gather that you're a biophysicist too -- I just got back into a job in that field after a decade of working in other bioresearch subfields than what I got my master's degree in.

What sort of biophysics are you getting into? I am in no way doing biophys, at least not deliberately; I was badly burned by a biophysics class I took in fall '06. Talk about a four month exercise in pulling my hair out. If I had to, I could hack the material, but not without a lot of grief, or textbooks that put my awesome McMurray Organic Chemistry and Albert's Molecular Biology of the Cell to shame. I'm a DNA person by personality and training, so I deeply appreciate your X-ray crystallography icon.

Enjoy! (What type of bio, by the way? I graduated in December with a specialization in cell bio & genetics.) Sometimes I think about making a set of "all true wealth..." icons with bio-specific backgrounds. I think people might or might not want to kill me if I started using microscopy images and BLAST search screencaps as icon backgrounds, but I would be very amused.

Fantastic work yet again! I like in particular 1, 2, 8 & 10, mostly because they're some of my favourite lines. #9 works really well also - very clever idea for a crossover.
