We're back to the
ase versus homework staring contest. Is there some kind of rule that biophysics resources must be written at either the high school or graduate level? The lack of good resources describing the math between "some things go through membranes, but most things don't!" and generalized equations written by twentieth century geniuses is driving me bats.
In the name of not completely losing my sanity, bent humor icons. The first two are independent ideas; the third is from this science jokes website. If you'd like one, boilerplate commenting and crediting would be deeply appreciated.

2.)
3.)
People are having conversations about Amnesty International presentations on torture right next to me. It's like a punchline to my homework whining is just waiting to happen.

Date: 2006-11-28 01:24 am (UTC)Well, when I was an undergraduate, I didn't have access to any biophysics courses. Not that I was looking. So, maybe?
bent humor icons. I am not into icons. Really not. I have a paid account now, and I have two (2).
But I'm going to have to make an exception for #1. If I can figure out how to do it; have never lifted an icon before.
BTW, I showed up because of a comment to this post (http://countrycousin.livejournal.com/1766.html). At that point, I didn't think you needed a link to Baez' page, but now, maybe I do. ;<) (What you needed was a better instructor, but that's by now.) Actually, there is a lot of good stuff there; the trick is to skip the stuff you're not interested in or aren't prepared for. I still plan a commented table of contents, but I have to shed more load first. He has a table of contents that will take you to some of the good stuff quickly, but he has a lot of stuff in his post-of-the-week (which doesn't make it weekly any more), and that could indeed use a guide.
