Fluid dynamics is a broad blanket, but I think wave generation deserves mention. Light scattering. Light transmission in a transparent medium (leading, of course, to the mentioned refraction.) Specular reflection.

While there is no life without water, there is (presumably) water without life. So the hydrological cycle gets placed firmly within Geology as it shapes the abiotic landscape both directly and indirectly.
