Recently got in a conversation with [livejournal.com profile] ashcomp and lj-free wife J. about Mozilla and add-ons, so I'm posting my current set of add-ons for the curious.

Most used items bolded, for easy glance-'n-grab.
  • Adblock Plus: like the name says.

  • Auto Copy: Automatically copies selected text. I love this functionality in Trillian; let's see if it's great in Firefox or if it drives me nuts within a week.

  • ColorZilla: color tool I mostly use for f-list tweaking.

  • Converter: Highlight number and unit and right-click for unit conversion. Since I'm still shaky on my metric/english conversions, I think this is the best tool ever.

  • Deepest Sender: Blogging tool. Never remember I have it.

  • Dog Ears: Tag a spot in that 100 page .txt you pulled off Project Gutenberg. Would be more useful if I remembered I had it, instead of accidentally dog-earing things occasionally.

  • Firefox Showcase: Can't find that one tab you want in the 20 you've got open? Click on the button at the end of the tab toolbar and get a visual representation of all tabs.

  • FoxyTunes: control your music and other media player(s) from Firefox. Add "now playing" functionality to your gmail sigs, among other nifty tricks. Since I have hotkeys to get me to WinAmp, I never ever remember to use FoxyTunes.

  • Greasemonkey: Javascript manager. Mostly got it for the "unfold all LJ comments" script, which is awesome.

  • IE Tab: Pesky website not firefox compatible? Engage the IE engine with one click.

  • Leechblock: Lets you block all those websites you waste time at. Perfect for the livejournal and slashdot addicts who'd like to actually get some work done.

  • Link Alert: wave your cursor over a link and see if you're about to click through to a website, javascript, pdf, etc. Cute.

  • MeasureIt: What are the pixel dimensions of that website element? Use this to find out.

  • Organize Status Bar: Perfect for people with umpteen extensions and a control complex.

  • Print Preview: adds a preview button to the toolbar and your right-click menu.

  • Research Word: Highlight word, right-click, choose wiki or dictionary to look it up with. Only works when you remember you have it.

  • Sage: RSS/Atom feed aggregator I never remember to actually use.

  • Searchbar Autosizer: Start with small searchbar. Watch it grow as you type! Small but cool.

  • Tab Mix Plus: Extra control over your tabs. Pretty cool.

  • Zotero: Research tool I have yet to use. Probably good for paper-writing.

So. What are your favorite Mozilla extensions?

The next time I have two computers, I am totally going to be using that one. Thanks!

(And hi, just wandering through)
