This evening a cold front passed through DC, generating spectacular sunset thunderstorms and snapping the weekend heat wave. I come home to an apartment with the AC turned off, the laptop freaking out when I tried to check my email, and this? Not on, universe! If I'd had to deal with another day of temperatures over 95, I would've snapped.

Message to h8rs Chicago branch: cathydalek's furniture has all the screws and expansion leaves installed. The woman herself has been introduced to That Place on JF for all her fannish gossip needs; I am reminded why my f-list has been cut, filtered and refined for drama quotient. Pool time delayed by dinner and cancelled by thunder (and then some really impressive lightning).

I'm feeling all meta about birthdays and intended audiences and hyperbole, but the short version is: sometimes you need to be a little dramatic, and usually you need to remember that f-lock is only as discreet as the people on it.
