Hail the traveller: I am back from Boston. I have many poorly-composed pictures and had only minimal sleep deprivation until I went into work at 7 this morning. Very good trip: my biggest problems were not enough time (or money), an unfortunate 8 AM flight - it was that or a 7 PM, and that was just a disaster waiting to happen - and a 15 minute delay on the groud from a routine paperwork screwup. I have no intention of repeating the trip any time soon - so says my bank balance, often and emphatically - but I have $11.50 left on my Charlie Card, so obviously I have to go back and make the most of it at some point in the future.

I would rant about people who leave the house and turn off the AC, but then readers might be moved to give advice, and advice isn't what I'm after here: venting is. So let this stand in for the epic prose-poem of frustration I was going to write about the culture clash of the tropics-born and those who wilt in strong light, segueing to my inglorious, overheated return from work, the heroic collapse against the climate control unit, and the trail of crumpled, sweat-wrecked clothes I left on the way to the coldest shower I could stand. I know my revenge is coming: winter is only six months away. Then see who turns off the HVAC, and who suffers for it!

(N.B.: watch this space for my reaction to the first real cold snap of January. Nothing satisfies me, absolutely nothing.)
