Week Winds Down
Sep. 26th, 2008 09:26 pmQ: When do you feel worse walking out of the doctor's office than you did walking in?
A: Vaccination day.
My roommate, bless her, had an exciting Thursday: good review and corresponding pay raise at work, topped off by sneaking out exactly on time to protest at the Treasury. Meanwhile, I returned a library book and took a nap.
Doris Egan is going to be at FenCon, and I am too smart to spend money on hotel, airfare and assorted travel expenses just so I can harass Egan about when (if) she'll ever write another novel, and join the hordes of House fans on general principle. Yep. Besides, I'd rather impulse-travel to Canada or Mexico instead. I instead took the opportunity to splurge on clothes and hair accessories after work today.
I'm also doing local stuff. Who's going to the LoC book festival this year? I want to hear Gaiman and Singletary talk, but that's the sum of my ambitions.
My Friday night entertainment is the McCain vs Obama debate, window-shopping Ann Taylor Loft. I would rather talk about the clothes than the politics: one of these hasn't been on nonstop news for months.
