List, Mostly

It's 9 PM on a weekday night. I don't have to go to work tomorrow (yay!). And yet, I am bored. Therefore, itemized stream of bullet points, assembled while browsing the internet:

1.) Cookie recipes with ginger, or peppermint (or candy canes), or chocolate. (All three at much sounds a bit extreme.) Bonus points for milk and butter substitutions.

2.) I'm bored with my white walls. What should I put on them? I'm thinking colorful (something like this, or something strangely similar to my desktop wallpaper) is good.
2a.) Possibly I'll cut up several old calendars and see if collage is one of my talents.
2b.) Also I may have adventures with trying to frame and matte memorabilia.

3.) I'm going to start rereading Cyteen any day now, honest, but first I think I'm finishing my nonfiction of the month because there is no good in reading two depressing books at the same time. (By the laws of inverses, it will also remain freaking cold until I finish my desert reading.) So far, the nonfiction is a story of what happens when ordinary people tackle an extraordinary job while severely underfunded and they have no plan. I'm really glad I had a "limiting liability" policy for September 2001 - November 2008, or else I would have done something stupid like join Code Pink and chain myself to the White House fence. The boundary between activism and outright insanity shifts depending on the light from above; lately it's been trickier than I'd like.

4.) Oh joy, ice forecast for tonight. I am super glad I took tomorrow off.

I'm weirdly creeped out by portraits on my walls, but I'll keep the still life pictures in mind. (Because, you know, I need more stuff I can't foist off on soon-to-be-ex roommates when I move into grad school housing.)
