This. Is. The. Longest. Week.

Also, I have had Mercy stuck in my head since Sunday. Now that I'm halfway through The Sharing Knife: Horizon, it switches off with The Verdant Mile and Solitary Man.

Anyway. I am taking my novel to bed, and calling it a night. Now that I'm on the fourth book, I'm sort of enjoying the series. The story arc is very poorly served by breaking it into four books. Also, the series is written in something like Midwest dialect, and is subtly alien to my sensibilities.

And did I mention, longest week ever?

The four books thing really hurt the series for me, I believe.

I think I'll be much happier with it on a reread of all of them at once. but I need more rest time before I do that, so we'll see

There really is a coherent arc, even if the many of the early romance parts of the arc actively annoy me! I feel like one of those annoying people who says you need 200 pages into a 500 pages book before it gets "good". And yet, I'm thinking I might need to reread all four books to make a call on the quality of the novel. If you know what I mean.
