Also, use and abuse of electronics. Yesterday I returned the $35 super-basic DVD player I sort of hated and replaced it with a $30-from-Craigslist HDMI upcoverting DVD player. Which I then hooked into the 19" TV player that's at least eight years old. Morals of this story: first, craigslist is the best flea market. Second, piecemeal electronics upgrade leads to ironic electronic patchwork.
