Well I Lost You There on the Open Road

I have a burning desire to rent a car and do an overnight trip to the ocean (none of this lame Bay stuff: an ocean), but I just spent a week and a half house-sitting, which is like a vacation by itself. So maybe I'll run off to the beach next weekend. Besides which, my shared bathroom and the kitchen floor are both disgusting: I see bleach and mopping in my future. A final point against Project Beach is my complete incomprehension of rental insurance is handled when you don't have other car insurance (see also no car). I may call a car rental office and throw myself on the mercy of whoever picks up the phone.

Fortunately, I also have a new patio table, a chair, ice cubes and a stack of books, so this weekend may not be totally lost.
