What I Did On My September Break
Sep. 19th, 2008 05:40 pmMy f-list says it's Talk Like A Pirate Day. I declare tomorrow Piracy Is Not Romantic Day.
After Tuesday's adventures in pork chops, I declared Wednesday the new Sushi Lunch Day. This was an awesome plan. Thursday I got a call at 11:25 that lead to rescheduling lunch for 11:35, which is why I love my job, and then I went to the farmer's market at 2 PM, which is yet another reason I love my job: super awesome flex time (within reason).
Catching up on House season 3. Am up to Merry Little Christmas. I'm feeling the need to lock House in a room with a stack of comics with Iron Man #182 prominently featured. Why go for subtlety when you can have low culture jokes?

For reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture, if you're fantasy-casting Marvel comics adaptations, who does Ewan McGregor play? I have just enough shame and attention to detail that I'm not going to insta-cast him for Captain America (why yes, this is an obvious ploy involving Robert Downey Jr), but I am giving it way too much thought. I mean, there's umpty-thousand other Avengers, hangers-on, X-Men & etc to choose from. I liked last weekend's three-day break from the lab so much that I put in for vacation time and am doing it again this weekend. So far I've been to a WSFA meeting, baked chocolate chip cookies, and admired TS Hannah's rain and wind, and declared it Navel-Gazing Emo Weekend Of Goal-Setting. ( What we become depends on what our fathers teach us at odd moments, when they aren't trying to teach us. We are formed by little scraps of wisdom. - Umberto Eco )
