Update by the Numbers
Apr. 29th, 2010 09:53 pm1.) Still alive.
2.) Still interviewing and sending out resumes.
3.) Roommate staged a sushi intervention; see (2).
4.) Sushi intervention was before the polite "thanks but no thanks" email after a second interview. Crushing dismay is being fended off with applications of logic (made the second interview cut!), investigating PT jobs, and occasional chocolate.
5.) Weekend resolution: get out, enjoy sunny and warm weather, avoid computer & job listing websites. My carpals will thank me.

Date: 2010-04-30 09:59 pm (UTC)I've explicitly asked when arranging interviews; biotech interview dress code runs to business casual. I'm not sure super-formal would even be appropriate for lab jobs: high heels and expensive skirted suits don't mix with lab walkthroughs. Instead of freaking out over clothes, I've been doing that due diligence and trying to find second-degree connections on LinkedIn. And debating whether 2" heels are worth the psychological height advantage / walkthrough tradeoff. (So far, I'm coming down on the heels side.)
